ABOUT
I joined Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial hospital in 2015 as the Director of Risk Management and Patient Relations. My management portfolios include patient safety, quality, risk, and privacy. Part of this role is to serve as the Hospital’s patient relations representative, which involves resolving patient complaints and advocating for the patient throughout QCIPA processes. I am also responsible for managing the food and nutrition department and administrating health and safety.

I have a background in Athletic Therapy and Kinesiology. Prior to joining the Red Lake Hospital, I worked as a Fire Management Technician for the Aviation and Forest Fire Emergency Services branch of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. In this role, I worked on the Provincial Injury Prevention Program for forest fire fighters and created a regional wellness program.

I am deeply interested in equitable care. I believes that while not every organization can offer the same services, any service that is offered should be of the highest standard of care available. I focus my quality improvement initiatives in this area and have a particular interest in improving medication safety and patient experience within the health care system.

I have begun my Master’s Degree in Health Studies. And, in my spare time, I am currently pursuing training for a half marathon and an adventure race. In both cases I am “in it for the t-shirt”.
